Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Comlynk is an iPhone app that files the business cards you photograph. This page explains what the app does with your data — and, more to the point, what it does not do.

In short

The data you create

When you photograph a card, the app stores the photo along with the recognised fields — name, job title, phone, email, website, social handles, address — and the raw text read from the card.

This information is stored only in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. It is not sent to any server, including the developer’s.

Text recognition

Reading a card uses the text recognition built into iOS. Processing happens entirely on the device: no image is sent over the internet to be analysed. The app therefore works offline.

Permissions requested

No location permission is requested. When a card carries an address, that address is shown in Maps from the text on the card, without using your position.

Third-party services

Showing an address on a map goes through Apple Maps, and that request is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Comlynk uses no other third-party service: no analytics, no ad network, no crash reporting.

How long data is kept

Your cards stay on your iPhone for as long as you keep them. You can delete a record at any time from the app. If you uninstall Comlynk, iOS removes all of the app’s data with it.

Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights of access, rectification and erasure over your personal data. Since Comlynk holds no data about you, these rights are exercised directly in the app: the records are yours, and you edit and delete them yourself.

Children

Comlynk is meant for professional use and is not aimed at children. As the app collects no data, it collects none from younger users either.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects how data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed accordingly.
